Ontario Farmland Trust

The Ontario Farmland Trust’s mission is to protect and preserve Ontario farmland and associated agricultural, natural, and cultural features of the countryside.

We work in partnership with farmers and farmland owners to register voluntary, legally binding Farmland Easement Agreements on the title of the land to ensure that the agricultural and natural features of the land are protected in perpetuity. OFT also works alongside provincial planners and other agricultural organizations to advocate for strong provincial policies that ensure the permanent protection of farmland in Ontario.
