Ontario Farmland Trust

The Ontario Farmland Trust’s mission is to protect and preserve Ontario farmlands and associated agricultural, natural and cultural landscapes of food production for the benefit of Ontarians today and future generations.

We work in partnership with farmers and farmland owners to register voluntary, legally binding Farmland Easement Agreements on the title of the land to ensure that the agricultural and natural features of the land are protected in perpetuity. We also accept donations of farmland. As well, we work alongside provincial planners and other agricultural organizations to advocate for strong provincial policies that ensure the permanent protection of farmland in Ontario.
